Silicon Cup 2005 the IT Regatta

27th & 28th June 2005

Silicon Cup 2005:

If you work in the IT industry here is an opportunity for you to take part in on of the most popular industry events.

For 2005 the IT Regatta has been renamed the Silicon Cup. Last year 70 yachts entered and this year they are setting the limited at 100. So to ensure you entry make sure you book in time.

The event is open to competitors of all levels of experience, from the complete novice to the expert yachtsperson. Entry is open to crews from all companies related to the IT industry.

The aim of the event is to support the following 3 charities – the NSPCC, JST Adventure Sailing Holidays for Able & Disabled People & Dreams Come True.

Itinerary for Event:
The event takes place over 2 days, with the first day being for yacht familiarization and race training and the second day for 2 races.

Please note the timings may be subject to slight change.

Monday 27^th June 2005

0800        Meet the yacht and enjoy a welcoming breakfast while your skipper runs through the safety briefing and the day’s itinerary

1000        Set sail for a day of yacht familiarisation and race training

1230        Enjoy a packed lunch onboard the yacht before the practice race

1430        Practice race starts on a start line outside Cowes

1600        Head to Cowes marina for evening’s entertainment. The marquee opens from 1600 for drinks.

1900        The evening party “Viva Las Vegas” commences – bar, food, music & casino

2000        BBQ with band

Tuesday 28^th June 2005

0800        Enjoy breakfast onboard before setting off for the start line

1000        First Warning Signal for Race 1

                Lunch will be served in between the races to ensure you energy levels are kept high

1400        First Warning Signal for Race 2

1600        Back in the marina Afternoon Tea is offered

1800        The bar opens

1930        The evening’s “Buddha Floating Flotilla” party starts – bar, food and music

2130        Prize Giving &  Presentations

For this event you can either enter in the IRC Class as a Corporate or in the Cruising Class as a Private entry.

Packages:

The packages are as follows:

Corporate Package, this includes:

Ø        Charter of yacht for 8/10 people for Mon & Tue

Ø        Professional Skipper

Ø        Accommodation onboard Monday evening (Tuesday evening at request)

Ø        Race Entry Fee of £750

Ø        Breakfast & Lunch for 2 days

Ø        Soft Drinks, Beverages & Snacks throughout the days

Ø        7 entry tickets for Las Vegas Party Mon 27^th June

Ø        7 entry tickets for Prize Giving BBQ Tues 28^th June

Ø        If requested Company logo will be displayed on regatta website & on your boat.

Ø        £100 contribution to the Event Charity from 1^st Charters

Ø        Use of Life Jacket & Safety Gear

Additional tickets for evening meals can be purchased on request. (Las Vegas £25/head & BBQ £15/head)

The price for the above starts from £2,880.00 + VAT. The final price is dependant on yacht chartered and whether you want stay onboard till Wednesday morning.

Private/Cruising Package, this includes:

Ø        Charter of yacht for 8/10 people for Mon & Tue

Ø        Professional Skipper

Ø        Accommodation onboard Monday evening (Tuesday evening at request)

Ø        Race Entry Fee of £150

Ø        Breakfast & Lunch for 2 days

Ø        Soft Drinks, Beverages & Snacks throughout the days

Ø        £50 contribution to the Event Charity from 1^st Charters

Ø        Use of Life Jacket & Safety Gear

The price for the above package starts from £2,300.00 + VAT. The final price is dependant on the yacht chartered and whether you want stay onboard Tuesday evening as well.

If you do not desire to join the organised evening activities we can book a restaurant for you, please ask.

All the yachts we use are insured and where necessary, coded for racing. 1^st Charters can assure that the skippers we use are all RYA Yachtmasters with commercial endorsement, and they will give priority to the safety of you and your guests and the yacht at all times.
