Scandia Life Cowes Week 2005

1st Charters can offer you the opportunity to participate with a team at the Sailing Week of the year - Scandia Life Cowes Week 2005.   This is an international event that attracts yachts from all nations for 9 days of racing and entertainment – bands, beer tent, fireworks and lots more.
Opportunities & Packages:
The event is hosted in Cowes on the Isle of Wight, the sailing capital of Britain. Not only do the racers attend, but it is a great spectator event from land and on the water, opening the doors for us to tailor your event exactly to suit your needs and get your company name seen too.   You have the opportunity to host people for one day or more; or you may even want to enter a corporate/customer team for the week.   Speak to us and we will propose various packages. Some typical ones are:   Ø        1 day Corporate Racing Invite up to 8 people to join you the night before for some welcome drinks followed by a meal local to the marina, and in the morning set off for some training before hitting the start line. All catering will be organised for the day.   Ø        1 day Spectating Here you have the option to charter a yacht or a motor cruiser for the day. Your guests will join the vessel in the morning starting with a welcome breakfast, then setting off in time to be on the start line for the bigger classes to see the world sailors tactically planning their start. Lunch will be served onboard and can be as luxurious as you desire or you may want lunch ashore which is no problem to organise. Finishing the day back in the marina for some drinks and canapés, ensuring your guests have had a memorable occasion.   Ø        2 day Event With more time you can tailor your event even further; you may want to spectate one day and race the other. Location:
Scandia Life Cowes Week is hosted out of Cowes on the Isle of Wight. There is easy access via foot ferry or car ferry from Southampton straight to Cowes. This service runs frequently and additional ferries are scheduled during Cowes Week further to its popularity.   There is also a special ferry service that runs from Portsmouth to Cowes during this week of racing. Please take note of the timings, as they do run as late into the evening as the Southampton ones.
Key Participants:
This week of racing attracts all people from the sailors on the water to the people that enjoy spectating. There is fun for all and further to the great organisation there are great social events on land following the racing each day.   It is a very international crowd so this the chance to use an event as a marketing initiative of getting your company name shown in ideal surroundings. Yachts & Power:
For the Scandia Cowes Week people like to use different types of yachts, some want the luxury and comfort and others are more afterr the performance. Whichever it is we can organise it for you.   Please contact 1st Charters to discuss the options further. See Yachts & Power for more details on a selection of boats.   All the yachts we use for racing are insured and coded as required under Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA). 1st Charters can assure that the skippers we use are all RYA Yachtmasters with commercial endorsement, and they will give priority to the safety of crew and yacht at all times.
