ARC Cruising & Racing Division:
Take on the Atlantic on a yacht of your choice. 1st Charters offer you a selection of yachts that will participate in different classes depending on their size.

The race starts in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria and finishes in the beautiful Rodney Bay, St Lucia. Depending on the yacht, the crossing will take between 12 and 22 days; even less if you are out to set the record.

You will sail across 2700 miles of ocean on the trade wind route. This event is the largest Trans Ocean race of its kind in the world! The organisers ensure a high level of safety and also organise some great social events both in Las Palmas pre start and on arrival on the beautiful island of St Lucia.

Volvo 60 - for real racing enthusiasts:
Compete in this great race against maxis and experience the trip of a lifetime. Take up the challenge, and discover the excitement and sense of achievement from racing across an ocean on a real racing machine.

Achieving speeds of 20 knots at times, this yacht is a fast and exhilarating passage maker. The package includes:

• 4 professional crew
• Sea Survival Course
• Race training in UK prior to event
• Berth for race
• Crew kit
• All safety gear
• Food whilst training and racing
• All race fees

Price: £2750 per person.

Beneteau 40.7 -  competitive racing in comfort:
Available for individual berths or full yacht charter (if booked in time). Yacht is entered into the RORC IRC Racing Division and competes in a competitive class against several other 40.7's. The 40.7's offer comfort, style and performance.

The package includes:

• Professional Skipper and mate
• 1 UK training weekend
• Accommodation onboard
• Food whilst racing and training
• All race fees
• Use of wet weather gear and safety equipment
• Accommodation and breakfast onboard for 3 days after arrival

Price: £1250 per person

Farr 65 - specially designed for all levels of experience:
The Farr 65s have been built to provide safe and fast racing for mixed crews. These yachts have circumnavigated the globe, and crossed the Atlantic several times.

The package includes:

• Professional Skipper, mate and 2nd mate
• 1 UK training weekend
• Accommodation onboard
• Food whilst racing and training
• All race fees
• Use of wet weather gear and safety equipment
• Accommodation and breakfast onboard for 3 days after arrival

Price: £1550 per person

NB: No transfer flights are included in any of the prices. We can advise suitable airlines to use. Depending on event organisers you may also be subject to a £50 registration fee paid direct to World Cruising Association.

Prior experience:
Sailing experience is not essential, but average level of fitness, commitment to the team and a willingness to try hard is!

Yachts & Power:
All the yachts used for sailing & racing are insured and coded as required under Department of Transport (DoT) and Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) or the equivalent abroad. 1^st Charters can assure you that the skippers are all experienced RYA Yachtmasters with commercial endorsement, and they will give priority to the safety of crew and yacht at all times.
