The package includes a weekend training in April 2005, which will cover white sail handling and spinnakers, race tactics and crew roles. This will be followed by the Safety and Sea Survival course. The certification STCW 95 is recognised worldwide as a official qualification and is invaluable to anyone that wants to sail and race offshore.

Ø Cervantes Trophy Race: approx 138 miles, Cowes – Le Havre
May
Ø De Guingard Bowl: approx 115 miles, Cowes – East of Isle of Wight – Dieppe
Ø Myth of Malham: 100-130 miles, fixed course in English Channel
June
Ø Morgan Cup: Cowes – West of IOW – round Casquests & Alderney – St Peter Port, Guersney
July
Ø Cowes – Dinard – ST Malo
Ø Channel Race: Last of the Six Pack, fixed course in the Channel, usually 24-36hrs
If you are interested in doing the Fastnet you will be participating in at least 3 of the above races as they are part of the qualifying passages. Hence these events also attract a large number of yachts doing the Fastnet Campaign making the racing exciting and competitive.
