Rolex Middle Sea Race:
The Rolex Middle Sea Race is one of yacht racings top three events with the Fastnet and Sydney-Hobart.

Race a Volvo 60 on one of the most beautiful yacht race courses in the world.

Opportunities:
1st Charters are offering you the opportunity to race on a Volvo 60, being run by our preferred partner company. You will train in the UK and Malta, and obtain your sea survival certification; which is all included in the package.
 
This fantastic event, hosted annually by the Royal Malta Yacht Club, is one of the ‘Top Three’ races in the world; the Rolex Fastnet and the Rolex Sydney-Hobart are the other points in the offshore racing’s ‘Golden Triangle.’ Visit the official site: Rolex Middle Sea Race

This race departs Malta and takes you around the island of Sicily, often described as the most stunning race course in the world. The race attracts up to 500 of the worlds most competitive yachts and top class sailors. It comprises of 670 miles of fantastic scenery and challenging winds.
 

 
 

The Campaign:
You will train for two days in the UK, prior to the campaign start; giving you the chance to get to know the Team and the Volvo 60 race yacht. Training dates are to be confirmed.

The Sea Survival course is included in the race package and a must for all serious offshore sailors.
 

   Yacht Racing  
 

On arrival in Malta, the team will train for a further three days, acclimatising themselves to the conditions and putting the yacht through her paces before the start on the 22nd of October.

Three to five days of tough racing follow, battling the international list of competitors, tricky winds and racing past live volcanoes and beautiful Mediterranean islands.

Price:
The total package price is £2995 per person.

Prior experience:
Sailing experience is not essential, but average level of fitness, commitment to the team and a willingness to race hard is!
 

 
 

Yachts & Power:
This event is taking place on a Volvo 60 which offers you a real race experience. VO60’s have raced around the world and are designed and built to be performance machines.

All the yachts used for sailing & racing are insured and coded as required under Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) or equivalent abroad. 1st Charters can assure that the skippers are all experienced RYA Yachtmasters with commercial endorsement, and they will give priority to the safety of crew and yacht at all times.
