1st Charters have joined forces with preferred partners to bring you the chance of choosing the type of racing you would like to do. Be it to participate in a one-off event, be race trained, attend an intensive training week taught by Pro-Elite yachtsmen and women, or to go even further, and join a Race Team for a season or longer; 1st Charters can organise it all for you.

Gotland Runt Race, Sweden
1st – 7th July 05 |
Very exciting opportunity to be part of some great racing in Stockholm’s archipelago. The actual race lasts about 3-4 days and starts with coastline sailing and then heading offshore to circumnavigate Gotland island before heading back to Stockholm. Join some of the big names in racing!

The Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) has been organising renowned offshore racing since 1925. Join a crew to train and race in the 2005 series. The package is all-inclusive, including the training and 14 days racing.

Location: |
|
The majority of the events take place in the Solent area and predominantly the marinas we use are between Southampton and Portsmouth which is a part of the South Coast very easily accessible by car and train.
The exceptions are the RORC Series will give you the opportunity to sail to France and the Channel Islands and if join one of the race teams you will many new exciting places. Please note that you need to ensure you have a valid passport and visas where necessary, for any of the racing that does not take place in your home country. |

Key Participants: |
|
During racing you will get to meet so many different people that get a high from the sport. The sport can be both rewarding when the race goes to plan and frustrating if you get the timing wrong. We aim to get you to work as team and learn off each other; enabling you to be competitive and get sheer enjoyment out of it.

Yachts & Power: |
|
For all of the events the yachts are chosen in relation to the performance needed. The crew sizes are normally 8 + professional crew with a minimum length of about 38 foot. See our Yachts & Power page for further information. We can also source a particular yacht of your choice.
All the yachts we use for racing are insured and coded as required under Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA). 1st Charters can assure that the skippers we use are all RYA Yachtmasters with commercial endorsement, and they will give priority to the safety of crew and yacht at all times.
