Recommended Kit List’s

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When sailing you will always encounter different types of weather. In order to help you pack your bag, please see our lists of recommended items bearing in mind the type of event you are attending.

 

Sailing often generates a lot of activity, so comfortable clothes and shoes are advisable. Also please note that the wind chill factors do variate so several thin layers are better than one thick.

 

 

A day’s Sailing …

 

 

In Winter:

Ø        2 x Hard wearing trousers that dry easily (preferably not jeans)

Ø        Long sleeved shirts

Ø        Warm body clothing - fleece, thermals may be required in colder weather

Ø        Hat that is firm fitting

Ø        Warm Jacket

Ø        Wet Weather Gear (if you have them or we can organise it)

Ø        Rubber soled deck shoes or sailing boots (no black soles please)

Ø        Sailing gloves or similar (if you have them)

Ø        Sunglasses and lip balm (even sunscreen is advisable on some days)

Ø        Camera to capture the action

Ø        Towel if you want to use shower facilities

 

 

 

 

In Summer:

Ø        2 x Hard wearing trousers that dry easily (preferably not jeans)

Ø        T-shirts

Ø        Long sleeved shirt

Ø        Shorts

Ø        Fleece

Ø        Baseball cap/hat (firm fitting)

Ø        Warm Jacket

Ø        Wet Weather Gear (if you have them or we can organise it)

Ø        Rubber soled deck shoes or sailing boots (no black soles please)

Ø        Sailing gloves or similar (if you have them)

Ø        Sunglasses, sun block and lip balm

Ø        Camera to capture the action

Ø        Swimming gear (if you are lucky there may be a chance)

Ø        Towel for swimming or after shower

 

 

 

Overnight Events (additional to above):

 

Ø        Sleeping Bag (if staying onboard)

Ø        Pillow for added comfort

Ø        Extra shore clothes

Ø        Extra Sailing clothes

Ø        Toiletries and towel

 

Please note: All your belongings should be packed in a soft holdall so that storage on board is easier.

 

All the above is a recommendation, so please pack any extras you feel you may require, bearing in mind the limited storage space onboard.
