Round the Island Race
17th & 18th June 2005
With over 1,500 yachts competing (that’s more than 10,000 sailors); the annual one day Round the Island Race is the yachting equivalent to the London Marathon.   There is no view more amazing than sailing down the Solent and looking back and seeing 1000’s of beautifully coloured spinnakers coming towards you.
The event is an ideal opportunity to entertain your customers. As you round the Isle of Wight, we will ensure all your needs are met. The more competitive of you may desire racing meals so that you can still concentrate on performing well within your fleet, whilst the others of you may want to sit back, and let the professional crew run the show so you can enjoy a delicious meal with a few glasses of wine/champagne.   1st Charters will cater for your needs. We will charter the yachts to suit your day and organise all the extras.
A recommended package would be from Fri 17th morning or evening (depending on if you want to fit in some pre-event training) to Sun 19th June and generally includes:   Ø        Charter of a suitable yacht for up to 8 people plus crew. Ø        Professional skipper & mate throughout the weekend Ø        Accommodation onboard, or we can organise for you to stay ashore Ø        Use of racing sails & spinnakers (dependant on yacht) Ø        Race entry fee for Saturday 18th June. NB: Racing starts relatively early in the morning Ø        Use of wet weather clothing Ø        Team Polo shirt for each guest with company name/logo Ø        Convenient mooring in Cowes for Saturday night Ø        Fuel and mooring fees Ø        Catering Package including: w         Welcoming breakfast or arrival drinks on Friday depending on joining time w         Lunch on board Fri (if required) & Sat – which can be as exclusive as you desire, see Catering options w         Sat & Sun breakfast onboard – bacon rolls & pastries w         Unlimited snacks, tea, coffee and soft drinks throughout the weekend w         Dinner for Fri & Sat can be organised in local restaurants or pubs Ø        Personal Accident Insurance which is necessary for all guests Ø        Events manager to do all the organising for you   Please contact 1st Charters to discuss the event, prices and any other Event Extras you would like to consider – Branding & Sponsorship, use of Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs), Crew Kit & Photography.
